watched the czech game from a year or so ago against nigeria, he looked more box to box than a static holding player. also not as skinny as the photos suggest, and also not slow

Sounds to me like him and Rice might get in each other's way!
Let's hope he's what we need an mught certainly stiffen the midfield, but he sounds more like a Rice type plauer who positions, recovers, tackles and plays it simple, than an all energy type like Kante who gets everywhere and drives the team on with their energy.
A shame Kessie seems to have gone quiet. Seemed from the little I knew of him that he'd have been complimentary to Rice rather than in competition with him.
Let's hope he goes well.
